I used one of these for several years whilst my Soldanos, VHTs, Marshalls and Mesa Boogies collected dust. For the money and the price of some good quality tubes to replace the stock ones it ships with, this is a great amp. Use your ears when dialing it in, not your eyes. It's a bright, articulate and fast responding amp that is perfect for modern lead styles ala Vai, vintage Hendrix and Zep and anything you need to play on your guitar. Exchange the 6L6 powertubes for EL34s and you have a monster on your hands that makes dropped tuned music simply mind blowing in it's effect. It's not meant to be a poor man's Marshall or Mesa, although it will suffice quite well as a poor man's Soldano and range of gain available will suit just about any talent and skill level to allow for some good sounding chops. This is an amp you can grow with, and as you develop into a more and more excellent player you can simply keep reducing the preamp gain to match your current ability as your skills progress towards world class levels. Tone is in the fingers.

I own this fuker, the sammy haggar one. love the clean channel ,loud very pretty and the reverb is a beauty .the gain is fine alittle noisy but shure can shake youre ass.I use the clean channel and run an boss os-2 a dd-5 with an les paul epiphone wiht seymour duncan sh-5 and it kills ala classic and harder.

I have one of the originals. got it for a damn good deal. Using a modern Crate cab with celestions. and im buying a bv215s cab for some massive lows. I have a jackson Kevin bond signature guitar with that seymour duncan iommi, and its the most ruthless, pinch harmonic happy stuff i have ever played. Honestly. Ive been wanting to sell it and upgrade. but to what????!?!?!? bogner?? thats the only thing i liked besides this. Mesa can kiss my ars, and krank is just feedback in a box. I dont need any pedals for this beast to unleash one hellish tone. Anything from blues, Led Zep, or Death metal from the bowels of hell. I also use my jackson kelly with Emg 85, and 81's and the 85s buzz like a mother on this thing. Buy it my friend, and try to find something better. atleast for me, its my tone for life
