A bit heavy.By far the best vintage sound for the money any where.This amp sounds as good or beter than amps that cost$2000.00.Thick,Fat,Rich hamonic overtones,clean or just a little drive.You don't need any other gear.
Vintage Celestien 30's are the best you can get.Great reverb,tremolo,eq.

Phenomenal tone, ... and loud! Amazing cleans with mucho headroom. Will bring a vintage vibe to your playing. Can do ruthless modern crunch as well. Just pound some power chords on the distortion channel--gain hi, master low. You know the deal. Here's an amp with no bad sounds. Really. It has wet reverb available that can really shimmer. Also has deep soulful or fast chaotic tremolo (vibrato) on hand.
Bought in 2004. Didn't come with a footswitch. Bought one. The F/S makes a real difference. The F/S has two stereo plugs, three buttons, three LEDs. Switching channels is now dummy-proof. And the F/S seems to have helped the tone, if that’s possible. I think the amp sounds even better now. Just my imagination?, ...
When cranked past 4 the Celestian V30's move some serious air. At 6 or higher it feels like there are fans behind the grill cloth. Watch your ears though. I rarely set the main volume past 3. If you don't have the F/S, get one!
Also works as a great power section for low wattage unit. Did this with a multi-effects solid-state unit and it was pretty cool.
All in all a palette of great sounds here. And looks awesome. I usually put my pedals away with the SR 212RT. Just me, my guitar and the amp = tone for days.
