Best Amp I have ever played! I have been playing 20 years and have tried everything from Mesa Boogie to SWR to everything in between. The only thing that comes close to me is the original Ampeg SVT 300 watt all tube or Mesa Boogie 400 all tube, but who wants to carry an 80 pound head around any more! Although the SVT 4 Pro is still heavy at around 40 pounds, that is still 50% lighter than the all Tube heads. You have to have a little weight with such high power. You will appreciate the Classic SVT Tone with solid state reliability. The all Tube Pre amp section gives you the Classic tone, plus you can achieve all kinds of other usable tones with the active EQ and 5 position Mid Frequency control! I have heard some people gripe about Ampegs quality control going downhill sine the buyout by Crate! I totally disagree. Crate has done a fine job first of all by rescuing the Ampeg name and also by staying true to original Ampeg designs. Way to go AMPEG!!!They also make several other Amps that are equally awesome deals and terrific tone with portability such as the Portabass line!

I just bought the svt-4pro, this is what I been needed for a long time the power of this monster drives both of my svt410hlf and my svt18 very easy with power to spair. The sounds from this head is the best, I play a Marcus Miller 5 string, when you hit open E or low B it shake the pictures off the walls. This is a hell of a combination, thanks ampeg fill the power of bass made in the USA.
