I confess that I have been a tube amplification only musician. I have treasured the warmth and roundness of tube amplifiers, as well as the managed distortion at volume levels that significantly exceeded the threshold of pain. What tubes lacked at maximized volume and in immediacy, speed and impact from percussive play and slapping, I consciously sacrificed for what I always considered to be superior warmth and truer tone everywhere else. All of my life, I believed that I could never have it all...beautiful tone and warmth, and speed, power and impact.
The SVT5PRO has forever changed all of that.
I recently played everything that I could get my hands on in Manhattan (which almost is every amplifier available in the world, and at any cost), and was shocked at the amazing tone AND speed AND impact of the SVT5PRO. I have never played or even heard a more accurate, flexible, balanced, capable and limitless amplifier. This amp is absolutely a monster that does it all with no identifiable weaknesses. Delicate harmonics, chords, deliberately overdriven tube distortion, slapping and even percussive pounding are all reproduced at volume levels all the way from a whisper to armageddon.
When coupled with PR410HLF's the sound is the deepest, most accurate, most beautiful, most immediate, and most powerful bass in the business. If you play an Ampeg SVT5PRO, you will go home and burn whatever else you have been playing.

I just got mine and it's awsome,i have a fender 5 string & a peavey 6 string and this amp has gave them new life.When i used it for my first gig guys where asking what kind of amp i was useing,the tone was fat.From the first time i used ampeg 15 years ago to date,it was then and always well be ampeg for me.Thanks guys
